This appears to be a very cheerful photo.  The wall painting was meant to be whimsical decoration on the wall of a two-year-old child’s room.  However, this photo represents an enormous tragedy that has only one bright spot in the end.

This is the wall of a room for a two-year-old boy name Moshe Holtzberg.  Moshe lived with his parents in the Mumbai Chabad House in India.  Any sense of happiness was shattered on November 26th in 2008.  This is when terrorists attacked locations around Mumbai killing 257 people.  This was India’s equivalent of 9/11.  One of these the locations attacked was the Chadad House were Moshe lived.  The attack on the Chabad House ended three days later when Indian commandos stormed the house.  In the end, six people were killed in the Chabad house including Moshe’s parents.

As for Moshe, that is the only bright spot in this story.  Moshe was rescued by his nanny, Sandra Samuel, who had been hiding in the laundry room for twelve hours on the first floor.  When she heard Moshe screaming, she left her hiding place and went up to the second floor.  There she found Moshe badly bruised, but alive.  She grabbed Moshe and ran to safety.  After the funeral for Moshe’s parents, the nanny and Moche move to Israel.  Follow-up news reports show Moshe having a normal childhood with his family and nanny.  In 2010 the Holtzurg family had decide to rebuild the Mumbai Chabad House.  The only part that will remain unchanged is this wall.
